Through our unique "social-pet-task" loop, we break the monotony of traditional tools to bring you a therapeutic, engaging lifestyle.

The Core Challenge
The Core Challenge
To be honest, most productivity apps suck because they feel like homework. They’re cold, strict, and stressful. On the other hand, traditional virtual pet games just waste your time.

For Taskie, I wanted to fix this imbalance. My biggest challenge was: How do we make task management and pet-raising happen at the exact same time?

I didn't want users to spend extra time "playing" a game. Instead, I designed the app around a clean taskboard where you plan your daily goals and track your tasks. While you’re focusing on your real-life progress, your virtual pet is right there with you in the background. It acts as a silent companion, growing, leveling up, and evolving alongside you every single day.

The Result & Reflection

Working on Taskie was a huge reality check for me. I quickly learned that drawing a beautiful UI is one thing, but actually coding it into a real, functioning app is completely different. It forced me to look at the brutal reality of development. I had to learn what can actually be built and what only looks good on a flat screen.

The hardest part was definitely the backend. Saving data on a server is not as simple as clicking a button. I had to struggle and learn how databases actually store information, and how APIs connect everything between the front-end UI and the server.

In the end, this project taught me how to think like a developer while keeping my heart as a designer. It made me realize that true product design is not just about making things look pretty. It is about building something that actually works in the real world.
